  2. loveisguilty asks: How long is the contract for National Guard? And what does the pay look like monthly?

Your total enlistment period will be eight years, but you can serve as little as three or six years, and spend the remainder in IRR (Individual Ready Reserve). IRR Soldiers don’t train with a unit, but can still be called up in the event of an emergency.  Your total income is a combination of several things: monthly paycheck, enlistment bonuses, cash incentives, benefits such as medical and retirement, education funding and other benefits. If you go to the National Guard website you can click on benefits, scroll down and on the right hand side of the screen is a pay calculator you can use to determine what your pay will be.

  13. storyofasoldier asks: What should I bring for bct? Any important documents at all or just a set of clothes. Thanks

Your RSP unit or recruiter should give you a list of things to bring and what not to bring to basic.  If you are still unsure, you should reach out to your recruiter.

  14. crazyarmyrecruit asks: I passed the ASVAB with a 35. But my line scores are in the 70's. I can not re-take the ASVAB until Oct. Even though I qualify for the Army Guard does this mean MEPS has to find me a job? Im open to whatever MOS they can find.

Your recruiter will get the score and tell you what jobs you qualify for.
